“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”
― Virginia Woolf, A Room of One’s Own

THE KITCHENETTE

You will find a fully equipped kitchenette with everything you need to keep yourselves sustained and happy during your stay at Rest Inn Knysna.

A microwave and Salton Mini Kitchen oven and hot plate unit will take care of your hot food preparation. I have provided you with a proper fridge and freezer, to ensure that you only probably need to do one shop for your stay. Bar fridges don’t do the job!….You will find a good supply of ice in the freezer, ready and waiting to pop into that end of the day drink on the deck.

You will also find milk in the fridge, bottled water, sugar, tea and coffee….and obviously the kettle. I don’t know about you, but a kettle is on my high priority list. All day. Every day. You get the mugs and the cups and the tea pot. Wine rather? You get the glasses. All shapes and sizes will be found in one of the cupboards, along with a cork screw.

Pop up toaster, sandwich toaster, pots and pans…. Without listing every utensil, I can assure you, that short of supplying liquid nitrogen to do a Heston Blumenthal extravaganza; I think I have it sorted.

Although the apartment only sleeps four, I have provided you with eight of everything, cutlery and crockery wise. Who knows. You might meet a long lost friend on your travels around the town, and want to share a glass of champagne or a meal with them. Holidays are always full of surprises.

NOTE: If you would like me to do some basic shopping in advance of your arrival, please advise. This would be to your account.

DINING OPTIONS

Choices, choices. There is a dining table and chairs in the large kitchenette area, as well as stools and a counter. We usually have awesome weather, and you might want to do breakfast at the deck table under the umbrella. Great opportunity to watch the birds tuck into their fruit and seed as soon as the light of day dawns.

There is also a braai (barbeque) area beneath the deck. On the garden level you will find a table and chairs as well as a Weber braai. Don’t worry about the dishes!…I will fetch them from there and wash them for you.

If you have surrendered in the face of holiday, and decided to eat out, I will recommend the most suitable restaurants in the town.

LOUNGE

Two comfy couches, board games, and of course a flat screen TV. You will receive the full DSTV bouquet of channels. CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera….or cartoon channel. (Or are those one and the same?)
You will also find a selection of books on Knysna, and I provide you with some magazines of the month. You will also be given a map of Knysna, which highlights all of the have to see places.

CLEANING

You will find your apartment spotlessly clean on arrival. You will also find basic cleaning supplies for kitchen counters, toilets and showers. Your apartment will only be cleaned by the establishment again during a stay, if your stay exceeds 7 days. On day 7 the apartment will be cleaned, and the linen changed.
